What’s New in Veeva CRM 26R1?

The Veeva CRM 26R1 release is coming on the 30th of April bringing a few important updates.

Bright Affect has assessed these changes to see what will impact your end users.

MFA Becomes Mandatory: Prepare Your Veeva CRM Environments by June 2026

From June 2026, the Salesforce platform will mandate the use of Multifactor Authentication (MFA). As a result, all Veeva CRM production environments must have MFA fully configured before this date. While MFA is not required for sandbox environments, Veeva strongly recommends enabling it to maintain consistent security practices. Additionally, System Admins are encouraged to enforce phishing‑resistant MFA for an even stronger level of security.

With internet security more important than ever, Bright Affect is happy to see the introduction of MFA, as this adds an extra layer of protection, keeping account data secure even if a password is compromised.

Automatic Attendee Matching: Faster, Easier Call Reporting

Following an Engage meeting on iPad or Browser, Veeva CRM now attempts to match Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting attendees with the correct Accounts and Users. CRM Users are able to review the matches and update them as required before Saving or Submitting the Call Report.

Bright Affect hears from end users that saving time matters, and this enhancement does exactly that by reducing manual effort by automatically matching meeting attendees, while still allowing users to review and make updates before submitting.

New Group Call Requirement: Clearer Connections, Better Reporting

For standard group Calls, at least one Person Account must now be included in the Attendee list. Previously, a Call Report could be submitted as long as a User Account was selected.

We view this as a positive change because it ensures standard group Calls are properly linked to a Person Account, resulting in more accurate Call Reports and stronger CRM data overall.

Automatic Sample Quantity Updates: No Sync Required

Previously, when users submitted a unique activities group Call that included samples, the sample lot quantity on the device did not update until an incremental sync was manually performed.

We see this as a positive change because the update now happens automatically, saving users time by removing the need to remember to refresh or sync their device manually.
