Improved Document Viewer

Veeva has introduced an updated Document Viewer experience with a simplified layout, streamlined access to common actions (such as Zoom, Full Screen and Find in Document), and the ability to view documents side-by-side for easier comparison. For those with Vault AI enabled, the user can also generate AI-assisted summaries of changes between major document versions.

These enhancements will make document review activities more intuitive and efficient for end users. Easier document comparison and quicker visibility of key changes will help reduce review effort and improve productivity. Confident and efficient Document navigation is key to the Vault end-user experience and it’s worth making sure your teams are prepared for this change and how to make the most of the enhanced functionality.

Fast Search

The Fast Search capability has been enhanced to deliver more relevant document suggestions and improved performance when users interact with the search bar. Recommendations are now based on a wider range of user interactions, such as edits and annotations, rather than only recently viewed content.

This also supports the Improved Document Viewer by allowing users to open documents in a mini window when hovering over a document in the search bar. This will help users locate important content more quickly and with less manual searching. This is a small but impactful improvement to contribute to a smoother daily Vault experience.

Vault AI Access

Agentic AI is now embedded into Vault at a Platform level. With 26R2, those with the appropriate Vault AI permissions will now by default, land on a new Vault AI landing page. End users can access a conversational interface, asking questions as a way to interact with Vault data and content. This change embeds AI at the Platform level for the first time, providing greatly enhanced capability to interrogate Vault from a single interface.

The release also introduces admin controls to enable or disable Vault AI when the organisation has the relevant licensing in place.

This is a positive step towards making AI capabilities more accessible within Vault, and the additional administrative controls will help organisations adopt AI in a way that aligns with their governance and business requirements.

Responsive UI

The Vault interface has been enhanced to better adapt to different browser widths, automatically adjusting layouts and collapsing navigation elements when space is limited. Users can also manually collapse sidebars and benefit from improved support for browser font-size preferences.

While these changes may appear subtle, they contribute to a more modern and flexible user experience. For users working across different devices and screen sizes, these enhancements will make Vault easier and more comfortable to use.

Process Monitor: Drill Down

A new drill down capability within Process Monitor allows users to explore individual records and documents contributing to process performance and cycle times. Users can apply filters, edit columns, sort results, and export data, as well as navigate directly to the underlying information from within the Process View itself.

This enhancement provides greater transparency into how processes are performed in practice. Easier access to detailed process data will help organisations identify bottlenecks more quickly and support continuous improvement initiatives.
