What’s New in Veeva Vault 26R1?

The Veeva Vault 26R1 release is coming on the 17th of April and will deliver a range of new features alongside important enhancements and issue resolutions.

Bright Affect has reviewed the upcoming changes to see what will impact your end users most.

Platform: Better Efficiency and Planning

Enhancements have been made to the Process Monitor increasing efficiency, and data entry has been improved with the introduction of the ability to copy and paste multiple values from Excel. Workflow participants can now be viewed for downstream tasks, giving clearer visibility and enabling proactive management of document and object lifecycles.

We think these improvements help end users complete work more quickly, reduce repetitive manual tasks, and make it easier to understand where bottlenecks may occur before they happen. Users will gain more confidence in planning their activities with clearer oversight across workflows.

Clinical Vaults: Improved Visualisation

The eTMF Vault now includes an Archive Readiness Dashboard, while eTMF, CTMS, and Study Startup gain a new Milestone Document Panel. Study Startup also adds an interactive Milestone Planning View to visualise milestone dependencies.

It’s likely that these visual enhancements will give end users a clearer, more intuitive view of study progress, helping teams identify gaps earlier and make more informed decisions. With simplified oversight, users can manage timelines more effectively and avoid delays in study execution.

Commercial Vaults: Increased Personalisation

PromoMats introduces automated Portal Subscriptions, and expanded Claims functionality with new Auto‑Linking controls, indication metadata, hierarchical copying, and a standard Audience field.

Veeva AI for PromoMats receives major upgrades, with improved content understanding and the ability to teach the agent custom terminology.

We’re watching the development of Agentic AI in PromoMats with interest and think that these updates will allow users to personalise their experience and reduce repetitive work, enabling faster content creation and review cycles. Enhanced AI understanding will ensure more accurate suggestions and fewer manual corrections, saving time and improving consistency across materials.

Quality Vaults: Improved External Collaboration

QMS now streamlines Supplier Questionnaires by allowing suppliers to invite additional respondents and enabling reviewers to request follow‑ups directly within Vault.

QualityDocs allows final documents to be shared with external collaborators via expiring public links, enables midworkflow reassignment of external reviewers, and increases the maximum number of collaborators per workflow from three to five.

Veeva continues to enhance External Collaboration capability, and we hear from clients that enhancements like these make it easier for end users to collaborate with external parties, reducing delays and improving communication. With more flexible workflows and secure sharing options, users can manage quality processes more effectively and reduce administrative overheads.

Regulatory Vaults: Refined User Experience

RIM Submissions has a redesigned Content Plan Viewer with improved styling, new one‑click filters, dynamic action icons, and an embedded document viewer to create a more intuitive and efficient user experience.

Navigating submission structures is often cited by teams that we work with as one of the challenges faced by end users. This redesign helps end users navigate complex submission structures more easily, reducing the time spent searching for documents and actions. The streamlined interface supports smoother regulatory operations and enhances overall user productivity.

Medical Vaults: Reduced Manual Effort

MedComms now includes a direct PubMed integration that lets users search for literature and automatically create reference records and document placeholders, reducing manual data entry. Additionally, users can subscribe to specific Portals to receive weekly email digests highlighting new documents and announcements, with separate digests sent for each Portal and easy opt‑out options.

These improvements will enhance efficiency and keep users better informed, helping them work faster with more accurate data while staying effortlessly up to date on the information that matters most.
