Third Veeva Vault Release of 2022

The Veeva Vault Release, 22R3 will be implemented at the beginning of December. Veeva has now published details of the enhancements included in the release, which covers the different Vault Applications, together with the base Vault Platform.

We have summarised some of the key enhancements that will impact your end users. There is a continued focus by Veeva on Modular Content, Vault Mobile and some interesting functionality to support Multi-Record Workflows.

Multi-Record and Multi-Document Improvements

The Multi-Record Workflow enhancements allows users to send multiple records (up to 100) on the same workflow. This increases productivity and improves the user experience for task participants.

On a similar topic, enhancements have been made to the user experience of the multi-document viewer within workflows. The dialogue that collects task verdicts now supports pagination and document viewing in the background. In addition, the left sidebar now supports document list filtering and infinite scrolling. This will make it easier for reviewers and approvers to navigate.

Using Vault Anywhere

With Vault Mobile, users can now scan documents using a phone camera and upload them to Vault through the Library mobile tab. We expect Vault Mobile to continue to be developed through 2023.

Veeva has also introduced a Glossary Terms feature on the Document Information page. This feature allows users to select text in a document and search for approved Glossary definitions. Users can also copy the term and definition to the clipboard for easy sharing. Again, this could prove to be a useful feature when reviewing and approving documents.

UI Improvements

Across the Vault Platform, there are several User Interface (UI) improvements being implemented, which is a trend we think will continue through 2023. Some key ones include:

  • Search: Precision Search Highlighting now returns results beyond the exact terms typed into the search box (including comparative terms and synonyms), resulting in more intuitive Search results.
  • Notifications: Users are now able to mark notifications as read on both desktop and Vault Mobile, so you never miss an alert.
  • Delegate Access: This feature is now available in all Vaults. If you are going to be out of the office for a period of time you can delegate your tasks to a colleague.
  • Reporting: A new feature allows users to visualize report data as a control chart.

Modular Content Continues to Develop

On the Modular Content front, changes are being made to the Claims object which adds a new configuration to PromoMats to make the creation, management, and usage of Text Assets (Claims & Reusable Text records) and Content Modules simpler and more intuitive.

Related to this is Enhanced Suggest Links. This feature improves the Suggest Links matching functionality and introduces the ability to build the Suggest Links action into the lifecycle process – the Suggest Links feature will now be available from the Actions menu.
