Veeva Vault’s 26R1 release introduces meaningful enhancements aimed at improving day to day efficiency, visibility, and document clarity across regulated processes. As a Veeva partner, Bright Affect has reviewed the release notes and identified several updates that we think customers will find particularly impactful, especially in the areas of process insight, data entry efficiency, workflow transparency, and document mark up consistency.
Smarter Insights with Process Monitor
This release expands Process Monitor’s analytical capabilities with support for Document Lifecycles, enabling efficiency tracking across document‑based workflows with metrics calculated per steady‑state version. Users can now export records directly to CSV and access an extended set of Metrics, making it easier to analyse trends and explore specific workflow paths in depth.
For organisations looking to improve cycle times or better understand bottlenecks, these updates provide deeper insight into where delays occur, enabling teams to make Process Monitor’s metrics more meaningful and actionable for optimisation.

Faster Bulk Updates with Excel Copy/Paste
A major usability improvement in 26R1 allows users to paste multiple values from spreadsheets (like Excel or Google Sheets) directly into multivalue fields, with Vault automatically converting entries and highlighting any unmatched values.
This significantly streamlines large workflows and frequent bulk updates by reducing repetitive manual data entry.
In our work with clients, we see that even small usability gains, like this faster population of workflow participants, can save hours per month when embedded into well-designed operational processes.

Clearer Visibility of Workflow Participants
Workflow visibility has improved with the ability to see all participants involved in a workflow, not just those with currently assigned tasks.
From our perspective at Bright Affect, this boost in transparency helps teams understand who is involved from the outset and ensures the appropriate actions can be taken to drive successful workflow implementation.

Cleaner, Consistent Word Mark-Up
For organisations relying on consistent, auditable review output, the addition of standardised redline markup for Microsoft Word renditions will be welcome. Vault can now generate PDF renditions that show tracked changes, such as insertions, deletions, and moves inline, with comments displayed as balloons.
While formatting changes aren’t highlighted and markup customisation isn’t available, at Bright Affect, we see this as a positive step toward more consistent document comparison and approval. This new option offers a cleaner foundation for standardised document review across teams.
