The Veeva Vault 24R3 Release, scheduled for December 6th, brings a host of new features and enhancements across a range of applications, aimed at streamlining processes, improving compliance, and enhancing user experience.
Here’s an overview of the main aspects of this release which will be of interest to both Admins and end users.
User Interface Enhancements

The Veeva Vault 24R3 release includes several updates to the core user interface that will impact all end users across various Vaults. Here are some of the key changes:
Improved Notification System: In 25R1, the notification system will be revamped to provide more relevant and timely alerts. Users will now receive notifications that are better tailored to their roles and activities, helping them stay informed about important updates and actions required. In 24R3, admins will be able to select to defer these changes until the 25R2 release.
User Experience: A number of enhancements have been made to the user experience. The Document toolbar has been simplified within the Document Viewer, with all tools now appearing on a single toolbar and repositioning the annotation filtering tool to the right side of the document.
Documents will now only default to opening in Annotate mode where annotations are present. All new and updated annotations will be assigned a Persistent ID which persists across all document versions when annotations are brought forward, preventing the creation of duplicate annotations, irrespective of how many times annotations are brought forward.

The Notes view and Overlay mode in the Document Viewer will be deprecated.
Updated Dashboard Tabs: Configuration of dashboards has been enhanced with new widgets and customization options, allowing admins to customise workspaces by creating individual dashboards as tabs, enabling users to quickly access the most relevant information.
Commercial Vault
In the Commercial domain, Veeva Vault 24R3 introduces several updates designed to enhance customer engagement and streamline commercial operations. Key features include:
Enhanced HCP Feedback: Integration with Qualtrics and Medallia allows for customized surveys post-Engage meetings, enabling organizations to gather detailed feedback tailored to their business needs.
Improved Data Management: Enhanced data integration capabilities ensure that commercial teams have access to accurate and up-to-date information, facilitating better decision-making and customer interactions.

In particular, enhancements to the Quality Relationships Panel, which now includes the ability to view, add and create Document Change Requests directly from within the panel, depending on permissions.
Streamlined Quality Processes: New workflow automation capabilities help streamline quality processes, from document approval to issue resolution, improving overall efficiency and reducing manual effort, particularly in relation to Document Change Control.
Regulatory Information Management (RIM)

The Regulatory domain sees significant updates in the 24R3 release, aimed at improving compliance and efficiency in regulatory submissions, for EAEU Submissions and EU Dossiers.
Active Dossier Management: Enhancements to the Active Dossier help maintain the efficiency with which current documents for a given product and market are managed, increasing transparency, and speeding up document updates. Note that Saved views will no longer be supported for the Active Dossier Editor and it is recommended to create these saved views in the Active Dossier Viewer.
Vault Mobile
