With the upcoming implementation of Veeva Vault 25R2, we’ve been exploring the new features being introduced to the Regulatory Vault, to see how these will aid your end users.

Health Authority Interaction Extraction

What’s new?

Up to 500 words can now be extracted from a Document using the Health Authority Interaction Extraction feature. Additionally, two updates have been made to the user interface of the HA Interactions panel; the delete icon is now only visible on extracted HAQ’s or Commitments when hovering over them, and when extraction of only either HAQ or Commitment is enabled, the object dropdown is disabled.

What does this mean for end users?

These enhancements improve data capture efficiency and make the extraction process more intuitive and streamlined.

Create & Manage Event Details: Support for Change Items & Labeling Concepts

What’s new?

The Create and Manage Event Details interface now integrates Change Items and Labeling Concepts into Events. Users can establish many-to-many relationships between Change Items and Labeling Concepts, enhancing traceability of labeling impacts. Admins gain new configuration options to control Change Item availability, creation permissions, and field display order.

What does this mean for end users?

Users save time and effort by managing Change Items and Labeling Concepts directly within the Event creation process. Linking these elements improves data accuracy and ensures consistent tracking of changes and labeling impacts. Admins benefit from greater control and customisation, enabling more precise governance over Event-related data management.

Defaulting Local Differences in Product Variants onto Application Relationships

What’s new?

This release enhances the Create Related Records and Bundling features in Veeva RIM by automatically populating local differences, such as Active Substance Name, Strength, and Dosage Form, based on preferred terms and country-specific exceptions. These values now flow through to Related Records like Submissions and Regulatory Objectives, ensuring consistency across the system. Admins are advised to adjust uniqueness settings for ingredient names to accommodate multiple combinations of name, strength, and manufacturing details.

What does this mean for end users?

Users benefit from reduced manual data entry and improved accuracy, as local Product variations are automatically applied when creating new Application relationships. This automation ensures consistency across Related Records, minimizing errors and rework. Admins gain flexibility in managing naming conventions, supporting more complex product configurations without compromising data integrity.

Active Dossier Enhancements

What’s new?

This release introduces configurable Active Dossier Templates allowing users to tailor Active Dossier structures to specific business needs. A new Active Dossier Template field has been added to the Application record to designate the relevant template for populating and viewing Active Dossier for that Application. New Date and Comment fields have been added to the Active Dossier Item Detail (ADID) record, such as Dispatch, Submitted, Approval, and End Dates, and enhanced filtering, sorting, and display features have been enabled in the Active Dossier Viewer and Editor. Two new fields, Latest for Authoring and Latest for Authoring End Date, have been added to help users identify the most current internally Approved Document versions for Authoring, with filtering and export support in the Active Dossier Viewer and Loader.

What does this mean for end users?

End users gain greater flexibility to align Active Dossier structures with organizational terminology and regulatory requirements, improving usability and relevance. The addition of new fields streamlines the navigation and organisation of Active Dossier content, enhances collaboration through the added context and communication fields and enables users to quickly locate the correct versions of Documents for Authoring or Submission, improving efficiency and accuracy.
